True they have to use studded tyres from november to march, but when you are using mountain roads and other side roads its a quick fix as the weather can change quickly and if you dont have studds on this is what they do.It will not harm your tyers look at the instructions on degreaser and you will see it wont harm rubber. Its used on engines and think of all the rubber hoses etc,it dosen;t harm them

Nothing to stop you spraying the rears as well it stops the backend sliding. My son just did the rears on his golf and he said it works great stops it drifting

I have some cheap tyres which have no traction on them whatsoever. When I had some quality p6000`s last time the grip was amazing. So tyres do make a difference.

I wouldn't do this, it will start to eat into the rubber,it would in effect melt the top layer of rubber off the tyre, break fluid would do the same thing but you wouldn't put that on your tyres,
I would rather get a good set of tyres

Brake fluid doesn't affect the rubber seals in the braking system, don't see why it would damage the tyres if you did use it although it would probably make things worse. Like WD40 its oil based and not a degreasant.

brake fluid hell no,different type/grade of rubber in brakes as to tyres and it washes off with water, but its a good paintstripper.

They're not that great tbh, i had a set when i lived in my old place (single dirt road with a steep incline that never saw grit)

They're downright dangerous on tarmac, fairly inefective on frash snow or hard ice, and are only really useful for compacted snow and dense sleet.

They also make the ride torture and dear god the noise!

Add to this the sheer pain in the ass of ptting them on to get over a patch of road and then having to get out and mess around in the freezing cold to get the off so you can ride on tarmac.

They are however far cheaper than a decent winter tyre never mind a full set of tyres.
But you get what you pay for.

there supposed to be the best thing to use, apparently a lot of car manufacturers are in talks with the makers, for what reason i dont know but thats what i read,

maybe to supply them with there own branded ones.

me myself i run a van and i get about easy, no sliding no loss of control and its been belting snow here, low gear with low revs = no slide.

too many times do i see idiots in first gear rev'ing the bollocks out of the car and all it does is spin the wheels.
