SJ,it's called GDPR,and comes into effect from yesterday, affecting all European countries

Your authorities had no choice in the matter,as you're still in the EU....and I would imagine even when you leave, part of the deal towards staying in the Single Market, would be the maintenance of GDPR

UK government don't believe in privacy anyway, that's why they have passed various acts over the last few years in relation to monitoring and keeping copies of your data, emails and web site visits etc. They just want to be able to harvest it themselves, after all "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear"

Despite the cost of living, it's still very popular.

Yeah, great point gaston, but I "need" to join an INFERIOR website to LEECH a binary file, that nobody has in the world.

Have it encrypted as you trip around the internet thingy, using a secure proxy that this government has no sway over (that'd be them all really) Sweden seems to be such a nice place, so you'd be better off finding a proxy server there that supports end to end encryption. That way they can't read the data you send/receive and won't be able to get the information as to what sites you visited from the non existent logfiles on the Swedish encrypted proxy servers that you used. Well until they suddenly decide that having encryption is bad for you so block access to said proxy server anyway.

You seem to forget that the government knows what's good for you and is only carrying out mass surveillance of the entire UK's communication to keep you all safe, honestly guv'
