why is it that 90% for new members

@ nige can it be poss that only verified members can post links or downloads sections moved to bits of the forum newbies cannot access. i know it would be impossible for the staff to check every link that was posted. we dont need those kind of members on the forum. dk is more than big enough to survive. maybe a huge clear out of members that havent been on for 6 months etc is needed. there are only 8700 members with 5 posts or more meaning there are over 100,000 members with less than 5 posts most of whom will hardly have been on in the last 6 months.

There is a large contingent of posters that go around forums posting these.. most are currently from the far east, with a lot currently based in vietnam.. they post links to download sites that get people to join/subscribe to them therefore earning the site money.. Some of these guys own the sites themselves some are just earning a sort of comission payment from these sites for their links attracting new subscribers. Many of these posters are from the same ISP and therefore working as a team.. When duplicate IDs are discovered then these guys loose their membership here.. Clearing up this section is a full time job as they do not speak English and not understand the warnings they receive, you will note that there are a few posters in there who are currently serving bans for not obeying the rules of that section even after recieving a written warning..

However it is useful for somebody else to be posting links to films other than me for a change, ites easy enough to find them to post them yourself.. It is a busy section and almost all of these types of posters have no intention of being a part of the forum 'community' as they have a goal of earning from it.. You will not the proliferation of sites with links being offered, to be honest i would not bother with them unless they were on rapidshare or mediafire anyway... hotfile is a pile of crap for a start...

The software section is one that will need looking at more, but without feedback on the links its hard for us to check each one.. I would be suspicious of a lot of the apps available for free... its up to the person who downloads them to have a secure PC that will allow them to scan the links/downloade file before running it.. Most bent software by its very nature hides something and users of forums like this are generally quite savvy and have more PC protection and thought about they install or the source of the download. Like Lainie rightly says, i only download from posters that i rate as posting quality clean links as she does.. credability is earned in such sections not given just coz you post in them..

If you see duplicate links or try something that is suspect, use the report post function giving us some detail and we can act on it as required...
