I'm pretty sure you will be hard pushed to get a good reception on Freeview unless someone knows better. The built in recievers are normally rubbish, but if it is hooked up to aerial on a roof you might just pick up channels. The supplied aerial will be poor. It's pretty much the same as trying to get Freeview on a laptop.
However if you can drop the idea of Freeview, I would certainly recommend Shinco. You can find them on Ebay for less than you want to supply and they are the suppliers of screens to units costing 2-3 times the price but with a Panasonic/Sharp badge etc. Google Shince reviews to see how they fair. They basically can play all formats of DVD.
EDIT: Looking around now the seem to be thin on the ground. Ebay has 90 day refurb units only. There is this though
Also I have never heard of this make, but it's what you want, and reviews are ok. I can't emphasise enough just how good the Shinco's are though.
