I am back in court week after next to get sentenced and am so wound up about it - told I probably get a custodial and never been inside before. I don't believe all the crap people say about it but am still shittin' it.

For the lad who was in there - how did you find it? Was it as bad as you thought?

I'm 21 in a couple of weeks so will probably be inside for that - not good. All I wanted to do was join the Army but know I have no chance now.

Depends what prison you go to and if you can handle yourself. I found it a walk in the par. The prison was a joke. Yes you are allowed Xbox in the jail but you do have to eran that privilage. Depends on how long your expecting. The prison i was in had a library with a PS2 in which you got to play if you went to the library. 1 hour session twice a week.

I can look after myself OK - go to the gym and play footie. I got done for ABH and Criminal Damage and this was when I was doing community payback for something else. My brief reckons with my record I'll get 12 or 18 months.

From what you say it doesn't seem too bad but I don't know how I'll get on with the other lads there and won't know what to do. Is it easy enough to stay away from any shit that goes on in there or do you just end up getting involved?

I hate being stuck inside and like being outside so that has to be hard. How long do you normally be locked up in your cell for? Even hated the time I've been in the cop shop cells for the night.

My brief said that because I'm 20 I'd go to Young Offenders but will be 21 soon enough. Would they bother sending me to Young Offenders or proper prison straight off?

Don't take this the wrong way but prison should be ~~~~in awful.. it should make you think.. "I'm not going back there.."

You should have to shite in a bucket in the corner of your brick room next to your thin foam mattress on the concrete floor, no heating etc.. and for 12 hours a day you should be doing back breaking work like smashing rocks...
