iv had a few similar calls from bransons mob. they needed to talk to me about my account but required my account number and password to confirm my identity before they could speak to me. each time i was like' you what? you rang me! you know who i am'. but they were adamant they needed the password and account number and i refused to give it to them as i felt their request was ridiculous. my solution was for me to ring them. in most cases it seems these calls were genuine but one case they knew nothing of the issues on my account that were supposed to have arisen.
