Hi all

my m8 has fitted a gate too his front door its on the outside he has fitted it for extra security is this allowed & are there any legal problems ie fire saftey as he is a tenant with local council

ideas opinions ?

I have never been a local council tenant but I thought you could not make any modifications to the house without the permission of the landlord.

i would think the same if the council see it they could make him take it down and bill him for the damage caused to property when fixing


whether they do anything is another matter when i was young people used to change council doors and modify there houses even though they were not bought

it was onlyif they moved out they were billed for damage to the property

Burglars and unwanted guests don,t always use the doors !!

has he got secure windows??? the last 2 burglaries round here was "entry gained by forced window"
