Boy oh boy, i am showing my age here, but can you remember the good old days when computer games first hit our TVs. .............

I came across this article on msn, and it had me thinking of some very good times i had with my spectrum.

    20 greatest Spectrum Games

i can remember most of these, can you ?

ones i think i would choose, in my top 20 are

    Underworld
    Sabre Wulf
    Knight Lore

Definately showing your age m8 :roflamo:

I had the one with the rubber keys and the one with the hard keys and the tape deck at the right hand side.

The games I remember are Dizzy and Bomb Jack...superb!

Going further back in time...I used to have a 'Grandstand' console. It had big levers on it to select the games, think it only had 4 or 6 built in games and that was it, not even a cartridge slot.

LMAO...I went looking on google images and found it...

My first computer; ZX81 with 1K of RAM! and you could upgrade it with a 16K Ram pack that plugged in the back. Games were Psions 'Flight simulator' with the blocky graphics, and of course; Catacombs and 3D Monster maze. LOL

I had a 48k Spectrum too with the rubber keys. Games for me were: Manic Miner,Lunar Jetman, Halls of the things, The Hobbit, plus about a million others..

Great days. I've even got an emulator to still play them.

      Retro gaming forever!

I can remember getting a BBC modelB, was fantastic at the time, i loved playing Chuckie Egg.
But best of all was the monthly BBC magazines, you could type in the Programmes , and you used to get some class stuff.

Once i hit the shutdown key by accident , after spending about 3 hours typing in the programme. i made sure i stopped up until i did it again, it was a football pools predictor, and i never won a thing on it.

Hee Hee, I've found the 'Old Foogies' club

I remember my uncle had a big Orange and Black console [no idea of the make] but I used to play 'PONG' on it for hours.

My first 'Computer' was the Vic20, I remember doing little jobs for the neighbours, [only our street, i wasn't allowed to go any further] in order to get half the money for the whooping '16K' upgrade. My dad said he'd put up the other half.

Strangly enough I found it a few months back. Still in its box with most of the accessories and it still worked. We had a fun afternoon playing Pac-Man.

My first computer was a Vic20 as well and I remember being so jealous when I saw 'Manic Miner' on the Spectrum.
And spending hours typing in the programs in the magazines and then minutes using the crappy end product.
                    Them were the days.
