when you have been settled, make sure if you claim jobseekers allowance you ask for CONTRIBUTIONS BASED JOBSEEKERS, you can claim that even if you have loads of money in the bank (as long as your NI is up to date), you get it for 6 months then it goes onto income based where you probley wont be ellageble with 20k in the bank (shite i know) as they will expect you to use the savings.

Well thats us finished...they let us go early and paying us till the 31st....we now have to wait on a letter with the redundancy payments and a ''compromise agreement'' which we have to get to a lawyer to brief us on the details. The usual guff will be on it i suppose ...like ''you cant do this or do that'' but who cares really.....they wont release any money till we sign.....so wheres the dotted line.

Phoned jobcenterplus this morning and after waiting 10 mins to get though this nice welsh lassie started to take some details but because there was some info i could not get my hands on she said we could not carry on and that i would need to call again later with the info. This was after going down in person to the center and being told i cant just walk in and fill out the forms, you have to phone up first, give some details then wait for another appointment then fill in another form which might take up another hour.....what a rigmarol...( like that word )..but it might get me ?64 a week jobseekers

Always a sad day when you walk away for the last time Jasbo Mate , if like my last place there were loads of good mates and characters , that gave you a helping hand and a few laughs along the way. Good luck with your job hunting , i know it's not easy , but try to get fixed up asap , as the state make it very awkward to claim anything , unless you've come from a foreign country without a pot to piss in ! and as Jok says , the longer you leave it , the more you get used to it .

I'm surprised she has asked you to call back with the added info she needs, with me the one's I could not answer on phone she said to bring details to the desk interview???

You'll see one person first to confirm you are who you are and check your missing details.

Then you get to see your "Personal Advisor" there great they talk shite and ask you silly questions, just humour them m8, they also have security guards in there to stop them beeing bitch slapped
