      I hate to spoil your fun mate but the last time Canada hosted the winter Olympics in Calgary 1988, the home advantage did you no favours as Canada did not even get into the top ten on the medal table... You got spanked!

      I honestly have yet to speak to anybody who has an intention of watching the games, I know of nobody who watched the opening ceremony, i guess some members on here will have...

      I know it is special interest to Canadians, I hope it works out for you and that you will not be paying for it for the next 20 years, your goverment only finishing paying for the 1976 Montreal games 14 years ago after being left with US$1BN debt... Notable though is that Calgary in 1988 was the first ever profitable winter olympics..

      I wish you and Canada the best of luck but i feel the Europeans (not the UK) and Russians will be kicking your arse as usual with the yanks taking their fair share of medals as well.
