A virgin rep called yesterday afternoon too collect my old telewest broadband box and i didnt relise i had my dodgy box on . Luckly he didnt see it and i gave him the old box he wanted. But why are there waitning there old telewest boxes back??? there ancient

are you sure he didn't notice,, maybe he just wants you to think that... collecting that old box takes it out of circulation and prevents it being modded etc, plus its a good excuse to see if you are watching catv when they arrive...

if your box was in same room i would say they noticed,as they were asked in to collect box it gives them a good chance to spot anything wrong.trouble is if they come back with a warrant and your box is on/or connected trouble ahead.i might be tempted to remove from house box and remote and put something else there in its place,better safe than sorry.

How's this one ! , a few years back , i cut my incoming VM cable with a spade , only 7cm deep in the front garden ! .
I phoned VM , who arranged for engineers to replace the cable at an agreed date . I was up on my bungalow roof , fitting a freeview aerial , when ( a week early !) , 2 crews of VM engineers pulled up outside , and began unloading ( i almost threw myself off the roof ! ).
I had a splitter in their outside box and 5 starviews set up indoors ! .
As two engineers made up the road to the exchange box , the other two rolled a reel of cable after them , i crept outside and within 2 minutes , removed the splitter.
They returned after 5 minutes , dug up my garden and recabled , then left , much to my relief !
