    Newspapers?

Years ago, I'd pick up a proper newspaper and read the news. Yes, the news.

Not any more. You'd be hard pushed to find any news in a newspaper. They're invariably full of useless stories I couldn't give two hoots about.

First let me take Tiger Woods. Yes, a very successful golf player. End of. What he does in his bed and who with is his business. I couldn't give a stuff if he has it away with a model, a ~~~~ star, a tranny, or even if he wants to marry his pet budgie.

Same with Cheryl Cole: forever all over the pages, and for what? Nothing I can see. The people who derive pleasure from reading such tittle tattle are really pathetic.

They go on about X Factor, Strictly ballroom, football players, 'Posh Spice'...

And it's not just newspapers. Once, Sky News was a respected news channel. Not any more. They too go on and on about X Factor and 'celeb' stories. And what's worse, some of their newscasters are in their late 50s, and should know better.

They sit there, laughing and gossiping about someone like Susan Boyle, and I am convinced they almost come to climax!

    WHO CARES!?

    Okay, rant over.

      Look at Rome.
Place was in political turmoil, people verging upon revolt.
Their soloution was fairly straightforward, give the masses vices, allow them to focus on useless drivel like gladatorial events, sports, celebrity gossip.
Keeps people in the dark and stops them meddling with the countries affairs.

If your Gordon Brown would you rather have people keenly focused on how much powder Amy Winehouse can wedge up a left nostril...
Or would you rather they focused on important things like just how badly hes managed to wreck our economy?

The people at the top with all their money, greed and power are terrified because we have the one thing they lack.
The sheer numbers and ability to vote, sure we might work for a pittance in a lower caste of wage slavery, but if we voted for the wrong person whom the elite could not control then the status quo would rapidly shift.
You think Rupert Murdoch wants to loose control and power? Nah, hence the reason we get nicely hermogenised sterile celebrity gossip instead of actualy infoming citizens about real events.

Keep the masses in the dark and stay in power, its as simple as. Dont believe me? Just watch for the sheer publicity thrown at the first politician who will bend over for the bankers in an effort to allow him to win the next election.
He who laughs last thinks slowest.
