    Carrying a Gun

Seen it recently on the news, our American cousins are campaigning to be able to openly carry a loaded pistol whilst going about their daily business.... i.e. visiting starbucks, collecting their kids from schools etc.

    What do we think?

I find it a bit weird that we consider ourselves a "little America" yet most of us wouldn't know what to do with a firearm !

Are we wrong, should we strive for a similar constitution? or are they wrong?

I think they're wrong. There will be more deaths with gun carrying people getting nervous and trigger happy over trivial situations

    THE TRUTH
    The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

Bad idea, that will mean less knives and more guns being carried by Teens and Wannabe "G's" and that means less stabbings and more Headshots. When your confronted with a knife you can defend yourself. Not the same with a gun.

Read the Rules here; they apply to Everyone.

bad shit if you ask me.. The yanks are so blinded by their constiution, just because they have a right to bear arms certain groups think they should openly carry one..

instead of looking at the problems of gun crime in their society they choose to openly carry a weapon in a bid to say "Dont try to mug / rob me i'm armed, try it on someone else"

Great way to fight crime.. trigger happy nation..

A 3 year old girl killed herself earlier this week after mistaking her dads hand gun for a Wii gun, only in America.

guns and the right to carry and shoot someone is ingrained in the American way of life..

Their military have very loose rules of engagement when it comes to warfare..

THE NUMBER ONE REASON FOR US TO HOLD AND BEAR ARMS IS TO FIGHT A TYRNAIC GOVERNMENT.

I DONT HOLD A SIDEARM BUT I FEEL COMFORTABLE TO KNOW THAT I CAN IF I CHOOSE TO.

If you are bored Non-Lethal Weapons but did see a tv programme that showed non lethal methods of denense, can't remember them all, but for hostage situations, pump building full of bubbles/foam (side effect is it cleans as it goes), gas that gives you the shits, 'expanding filler foam'
that you spray on someones 'bits' and it uses so much energy to move it, you are tired in a short time

hmmm.. the reason you hold and bear arms has nothing to do with your govt. you've been carrying them for years..

do you feel comfortable when your laws allow incidents like the Seattle Sniper, Beltway Sniper, Columbine, Virginia Tech..

                      Here's a statistic..

If you consider that there have been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theatre of operations during the last 22 months.

With a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000.

The rate in Washington D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000.

That means that you are about 25% more likely to be shot and killed in Washington DC (which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the USA) than you are in Iraq.

Was thinking more of if there is a silly cow floating around a MOOter way, with no lights on on the wrong side of the road, bang & stick on back of low loader for spares or repair

The right to KEEP and BEAR arms actualy originates further back that to keep a tyranical government at bay.

It dates back to england and predates organised armies and police forces, it was a citizens civic responsibility to keep a night watch and be on the look out for suspicious activity from looters, barbarians, rival hamlets etc.

It was written into the US bill of rights soley because when the colonies broke away there was no regimented army to speak of.

Therefore it was every citizens responsibility to ensure that "dem gawd daym inglish" didnt try and invade.

As it stands to day the second ammendment is extremely arcane and outdated, theres no need for militia groups to prevent invading red coats, just as in the UK theres no need for people to go around policing and spending long nights up a wooden tower to prevent the barbarian hordes invading.

I find it bemeusing that 9 out of 10 americans cant even recite their own constitution except for the passages regarding pleading the fifth and their right to bear arms.

Even sadder still is that instead of keeping the tyranical government at bay they openly elect them in
He who laughs last thinks slowest.

So what your saying is the Grand of Duke of York with all his 10,000 men and horses that all had rifles, was a waste of time as they were unable to do anything for 'Humpty Dumpty' when he fell of a wall
