    state of the roads

this was posted in another thread but i didnt want hijack that thread and take it off topic as it was about the price of petrol

"More taxes = better roads, however this is not always true when the government is corrupt and wastes gas tax money on other things..."

i have to say the roads in and around the glasgow/paisley/renfrewshire area are an absolute disgrace. nothing i really noticed before as i couldnt drive so i dont know if they are normally like that or has damage been done with all the grit and salt thats been on the roads?? great western road in glasgow is a shambles. i know they will need to be fixed and that will cause huge problems as parts of gwr are already gridlocked in the morning with all lanes open.

Yes, we got the same probs around here Lainie, if your not going over a speed ramp, your going down a pothole...

I think the local garages are making a fortune out of replacing car suspensions...

the roads are a shambles everywhere especially after the hash winter weather. Write to your MPs asking them why the government can't increase funding for road maintenance from ?7bn a year when the government rakes in ?45bn in taxes off motorists.
