So you think you had a bad day?

A garage worker has written off a client's brand new ?245,000 Ferrari after taking it for a test drive following an MOT and crashing it into a lamppost.

The junior road tester from a local MOT centre had taken the dark blue Ferrari 612 Scaglietti for a spin to 'put it through its paces' before returning it to its owner.

But the driver lost control of the car, which has a top speed of 193mph and goes from 0-60 in just four seconds, before mounting a two-foot wall and landing in the middle of a roundabout.

The driver, who is in his early 20s, was treated for shock at the scene in New Malden, Surrey, but was unhurt.

The top-of-the-range car is one of only a handful in the UK .

A source said the car was being given a 'quick road test' before being handed back to its owner, who was 'obviously not happy that their pride and joy has been wrecked.'

'The poor s** driving the car is insured, but these cars don't come along very often and they cost a hell of a lot of money,' the source said.

'There's a two-year waiting list for a car like this, so the guy will have a wait a bit before he can get behind the wheel of that kind of motor again.'

Onlooker Gary Adams said: 'He was driving along one minute and the next the car was in the middle of the roundabout.

'He looked pretty stressed out when he realised the car was wrecked and kept saying his bosses would kill him.'

Another eyewitness, who did not want to be named, said: 'It was a bit bizarre. He just lost control and smashed into a lamppost and then the car mounted the roundabout and ended up in the middle of it.

'There were no other cars involved - he just lost it as he went round the roundabout.'

Police called to the scene said the crash was being treated as a 'one car accident' and that an investigation was not necessary.

How can it be brand new and need an MOT was the ownwer using it for a taxi?

Heard a lovely story years before M-H-M came along that some dick had waited 6 months for the 'new' pug 205 GTI, within half hour the dealer sent out a towtruck to fetch it out of a ditch

Lots of these 'super cars' are hard work to drive. Can safely say a Maserati Quattroporte - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia is a 'sensible' car to drive just make sure if you are going to 'give it rag' down the road, make sure you turn in to your works permisies a good 15 seconds before the customer does in his other car

Oh don't even think about nipping out of a gap in a Bently Turbo R as they
are longer than you think (radio fuse is in the boot if you need to know)

Did go to a car place where EVERYBODY refused to drive the RX7, cause
the boss and myself went for a drive, yeah it does 'snatch' at round abouts
      sold to some unsuspecting punter.

Trade policy nice excess M-H-M (yes we are insured - sort of) is ?500/?700 depending on who is claiming

I'm assuming it was new to the owner.

As it was a 'one car accident' it can be sold as scrap with the words "Not raced or rallied"

My little accident wasn't anywhere near as bad as that, but my friend looked like he had just died.

He bought a Westfield SEi Widebody, 1700 crossflow race tuned. 150BHP in a car weighing about 500kgs...it was quick.

Took it on a track day down at Barkston Heath. Nice circuit, my first trip out on the hill/sprint track I had his girlfriend as passenger. I'd only driven the car twice before. By the end of the back straight she was screaming, and she likes to drive fast. Then it was the drift/special lap.... I went for speed, in a no fear kind of way. On the 3rd chicane it dawned on me I might be going a tad to fast. That was half a second before I hit adverse camber & lost the back end big time. 60mph through, and I do mean through, a tire wall sideways. It's amazing how time slows down....

I was very lucky. Three small scratches on the drivers side & a chip out of the front off-side wheel guard the size of a 20p coin. My friend thought I'd totaled it & killed his girlfriend. It took her 20 minutes to stop shaking.

                Ahhhh, fun days.

Just whoever there were the company would not have got off the ground without them. GUARENTEE if said the company name, no matter (apart from VERY young persons) you would go 'Oh xxxx'
