    Retail car parks... be carefull

The latest idea of how to get money from motorists is the land owners of retail parks now have system of how to get money from the motorist. If any vehicle is over the white lines or the vehicle is sticking out of the bay you will receive a charge of ?60 apparently when you do park over the white lines or a vehicle is (obstructing ) other traffic they contact the dvla and yes they have a permit to do this for a nominal fee and then they send you a charge through the post of ?60 reduced to ?30 if paid immideiately and rises to ?90 if you miss the date. Just be very careful when you visits B-Q or wickes as your van may be classed as obstructing other users due to the size of it..also you can be fined if you stay over 3 hours but cant see how thats monitored and DONT park in disabled bays as you deserve the fine.

Hoggy, if enough of the general public got together or a petition was drawn up and a suggestion of a boycott of the store in question then it might change their penny pinching ways.

Pat this has happened to friend of mine abroad, they are even doing this in france he parked his car in a car park by the coast and one of his front wheels was over the white line slightly,
when he came back to the car there was a ticket on it.
since then his back in england and he wont pay the fine so far hes heard nothing.

Ok ... if you receive a parking 'fine' from any supermarket or similar DO NOT PAY ... because you have not broken any law.

What you actually receive is an unenforceable invoice.

E'cuse me, have you ever been to B&Q here in Meat-City?

No, perhaps, you would like to park your car, boat golf cart etc in any
space other than the disabled bay when purcashing, 10 bags of gravel

If you don't, you will do next time as the car park is up hill.

Besides why do disabled people need to go to a diy store to buy
bricks, worktops, creosote, if they can't work cos they are disabled, then then don't need parking by the door.

nobody goes to B&Q in meat city because the prices are astronomical and the vat is 50 percent.
and the disabled people go there for a day out to have a nice cup of tea and to have a look at the new bathrooms & kitchens so they need their parking space.

Andrew, have the police any jurisdiction for private property?

no, if you ge a ticket on public roads, you get the option to pay a fixed penalty (parking ticket)because you have broken the law. if its on private property, then thats a whole diffrent matter. you havnt broken the law and the police will not really be interested. it is a dispute between you and the landowner. the landowner will try to make out as if you have broken the law though. call his bluff... see what happens

Free advert, but worth looking at ?20 back B&Q Online: From Kitchens & Bathrooms to Sheds & Paving; plus planning tools

Chances are somebody just needs 'another bag of cement' or something
heavy, and there is nothing but disabled people drinking tea smoking
roll ups, waving their crutches around moaning about the Tory Govament

Let them hollble their tea and cakes off to the other side of car park.

Do you go to B&Q or Wickes or 'Meat-City DIY LTD' park in the disabled bay
and go buy cement, bricks worktop, 200 Meters of cable lawnmower etc?

if you say you were not the driver on private property the case ends full stop (unless they have you on cctv) you have no legal obligation to tell them who the driver was either

Absolutely agree with ya. Same thing happened to me in the missus's car in Aldi. She was at work at the time. And she wrote back saying a number of people could of being driving, I don't know who was driving... do you?
