Video - Volvo auto brake fails during demo

A little something to cheer you guys up....

Volvo's major new safety feature failed in embarrassing fashion during a press presentation.
Called 'Collision Warning with Auto Brake', the technology is supposed to automatically apply the brakes if cameras sense an imminent crash.
Unfortunately, the technology broke down in front of a group of journalists at a presentation in Sweden. And sadly for Volvo, some of them were armed with camera phones.
The test saw a new S60 saloon emerge from a warehouse at around 30mph, moving towards a stationary truck. The Auto Brake should have detected the truck and stopped the car. Sadly it didn't.
Volvo blamed the incident on a combination of 'human error' and a faulty battery. According to science and technology magazine wired.co.uk, in attendance, the technology had worked perfectly earlier during the presentation.
The Volvo S60 is due in UK showrooms in July, priced from around ?23,000.

I remember this from a year or two ago. As I recall the driver didn't turn the function on... D'oh!

            I disagree on two counts...

            1. Vulva's will beat a sweaty hairy workmans ass any day of the week & twice on Sundays.

            2. I'm after a Volvo V70 T5 with AWD (when I get the money). A 4 wheel drive estate with 300bhp... the dog will love it.
