triton m8 they brilliant, i had 1 fitted about 5 months ago, i got a 10.5 kw, the higher kw the better but they dearer, my 10.5 cost ?95 but it was on offer, was ?118. when you buy 1, get 1 with a seperate on/off switch, ( as well as the temperature dial ) the sparky advised me to get one like that cause they work better, if you can afford it get highest kw there is because the hotter you have the water the less water pressure u will get, so if u got a high kw shower you wont have to turn up the dial as much to get hot water so u will have a more powerfull shower.

leccy showers arnt that dear to run, and think bout it you will be saving on gas with not using the combi boiler, and any way a shower run off the combi wont be as powerfull as a decent leccy shower. leccy showers have a direct feed from cold water tank so plenty of pressure, combine that with a high kw shower and you will have quite a powerful shower.

Any of these are a good buy Mira and Triton...
I always use these brands when fitting a electric shower for a customer and have never had any problems.
Make sure you get 1 with a high kw as it will save you on electric as it heats up alot faster. Plus you will have better water pressure As you will not need to turn it up that high with a lower kw shower the pressure gets affected has you have to turn it up high to get it warm.
Also make sure that it has it's own independent on/off switch.

as stated tell the missus you want a mixer shower.

far more powerful than a electric shower, cheaper to run and less to go wrong..... no brainer for me.

i even installed a mixer in my house running off my old gravity fed system and its still better than an electric (installed it ready for getting combi fitted), if you do decide to go mixer i can guarantee you wont go back to a electric shower

I`ll have to go with the majority so far and say Triton also.

I would go for Triton fixed a few of these and had no problem getting parts.

The cheapest option to run is a mixer shower off the combi boiler ( if you have one ) But i guess it depends also on how much time is spent in the shower everyday. A 10kw shower can cost about ?1.10 - ?1.40 per day to run if its on for about 1 hour in total. This depends on so many factors like actual Kw rating of shower, and how much time is spend in shower etc. Also its a proven fact that heating water up by electricity is the more expensive than gas. I used to have a 8.5Kw rated leccy shower before we had a combi boiler fited, and the leccy bill has halved, but the gas bill has not increased that much in comparison. Also the mixer shower is so easy to service as its mechanical...it also takes the risk away from mixing water & electric...also more peace of mind

Go for a creda, they use a metal can for the heater.
Mine came with a free 2 year warranty.

Avoid galaxy 1000, 2000, 3000 because they break down often.

Tritons are ok, but i most that i have seem to pop the pressure valve ( ball bearing), otherwise they are also good.

Team Mate are notorious for this fault...this is another good reason to opt for a mechanical mixer shower
