    which hdmi cable?

not sure if this the correct section, but couldnt really find where else to put it.

i am needing a few new hdmi cables, as finally decided to set the xbox 360 up, as only had it in its box since xmas .

been looking around and see there are a few different versions, which is the better one to go for?
    thank you

quality and what it does or not do.

Monster Cable?'s HDMI Learning Center Is Your Information Resource for High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) Cables

I decided to write this article the first time I saw another writer say "HDMI is digital - it either works or it doesn't." Then I saw that statement get repeated over and over. The problem is that

If your gear is seriously high end and has been custom calibrated, using a certified spectroradiometer/ spectrophotometer and working with a distance of over 10 feet of cable then things begin to matter, but then again if youve just thrown down ?1,750,000 on av gear then throwing down another ?1000 on spec'ed cables wouldnt be an issue.

The simple fact of the matter is that on consumer grade gear it doesnt matter if you spend ?0.50 or ?500 on a cable the difference will only be measurable with precision test gear.
completely impreceptable to the naked eye. You would be better spent getting your gear tuned with the ?499.50 you could have saved by an AV geek.

Consumer level HDMI cables are just a marketing ploy, you only need to worry if your looking at pushing 4320p @ 200hz
Since an xbox only outputs 3.5gbps of data at most any cable will suffice. (the initial HDMI 1.0 spec will support up to 3.96gbps transfer rates)

"High Speed (or “category 2”) cables have been tested to perform at speeds of 340Mhz, which is the highest bandwidth currently available over an HDMI cable and can successfully handle 1080p signals including those at increased color depths and/or increased refresh rates. High-Speed cables are also able to accommodate higher resolution displays, such as WQXGA cinema monitors (resolution of 2560 x 1600)."

cheap ones on ebay perform the same as expensive ones. it sends digital information 10111100. so input and output the same.
