I have a Phillips DVDR600VR that can dub VHS tapes to a DVD+R (and it HAS to be a DVD+R). It can do it well, but the resulting DVD's have occasional dropout that obliterate a half-second of video and audio.
One review on Amazon suggestsd that this problem is due to older tapes. So I was wondering, if I dub my older tapes to newer VHS tapes made this year, and dub the newer tapes to DVD, would that reduce dropout.
