    VHS-DVD woes

I have a Phillips DVDR600VR that can dub VHS tapes to a DVD+R (and it HAS to be a DVD+R). It can do it well, but the resulting DVD's have occasional dropout that obliterate a half-second of video and audio.

One review on Amazon suggestsd that this problem is due to older tapes. So I was wondering, if I dub my older tapes to newer VHS tapes made this year, and dub the newer tapes to DVD, would that reduce dropout.

the only way to find out would be to try doing one tape and see if it works m8

if you dub an older tape to new vhs tape the problem there will be a drop of picture quality, if your your tapes are good quality then maybe you can get away with it,
      then its worth a try.

I would say about 10 percent but if your original tape is very good then you will hardley notice the drop but it would never be as good as the original.
but if you copy direct to dvd then there will be no loss.
