    walking stick

    hi peeps heres a question id like answered,im currently disabled and use a mobility scooter for long distance,but on a short walk i need to use a walking stick,,my left leg is the painful one,now my question is do i use the stick with my left hand,or do i use my right hand,useing my right hand seems easier but is this right,when i try with my left hand i keep tripping up on my own ~~~~ing feet,,so whats the right way

    The usual way is to use the stick on the same side you have the injury like you would a crutch, thus reducing the pressure on the offending leg, so in your case the left side, as for tripping over either pack up the booze or tell people you are practicing your Norman Wisdom impressions...chuck

      I'm in a similar situation re walking stick
      you use the stick in the other side from the injury so your weight gets taken from the offending limb
      so you should use the stick on the right hand side
      after 10 years of using a stick you could definately say on this case I know for sure what I'm talking about.

        those walking poles that hikers use
        you know the sprung ones kind of like suspension in them
        they help to take the strain from your back a little
        try using one of them
