Don't train to do it with vigin they can ~~~~ the angles up, I would select a independant contractor who is doing some installations for virgin and ask him, there is a lot of this work going on at the present....chuck

Cheers chuck funny enough I found that website earlier and they seem the best company so far. Do think I might def give them a call and see what they can do.

You said you was a sparks so do you reckon there will be plenty of work for me once I qualify ?

I'm already a rf tellecomms installer so have experience in running cable and building uni strut etc

Its a bit of a grey area Ken, when you have decided what you are going to do I would give a few big companies a ring an see what they are paying sub-contractors. I would not consider going to a salary paid job as they pay you peanuts and it seems pointless spending the time at college.A lot of the course you will be taking is general knowlege I think the hardest aspect is the splicing and angles of alignment of the fibre optics. If you do go down the sub-contracting route dont take no shite off anyone, you are your own boss so come to a ammicable working situation or they will walk all over you. As for work quota, a lot of companies who are installing FO are using big companies for the installation hence chase up the sub route. I personally think it is a good decision to go into FO as it is only going to increase in demand, I install a lot of cat cables but it not be long before I will be asking you the best route to take in FO...best regards chuck
