simon scarrow ... eagle series ...

Conn Iggulden ... series on Genghis Khan ...

Robert Jordan ... the Wheel of Time serise (about 13 books up to now)

All enjoyed by myself and very recommend.

All James Patterson books are quite good.
Jeffrey Deaver (he who wrote The Bone Collector).
James Herbert if you like a good horror story.
I recently started reading Terry Pratchetts Discworld Series, yes, it's Fantasy, but if you start with the Nightwatch, it's a bit of a thriller as well.... And very funny.
Sticking with fantasy, Raymond E. Feists Riftwar series is quite good, I just finished the very last book, and I think that was the final chapter.

Staying with the fantasy side of thriller there are a few I can't help but read again & again.....

Brian Lumley.. Necroscope Series (1-5), Vampire World Series (1-3), Necroscope -The Lost Years (1&2), E-Branch (1-3)

There's about 3 more books to follow that I haven't got round to yet. Of the lot, the Vampire World series is by far the best for action & thrills. But it will be very hard to follow for about 4 chapters unless you read the Necroscope series first.

I've re-read these so many times. Like any good author he really makes you believe this exists, & the way he can tell the same story from different points of view keeps you rivited. A word of warning...These books will deprive you of sleep. Not because they're scary, just that you have to know what happens next...then you look at the clock & it's 5am.

Keith Laumer... A Plague of Demons & other stories.

You can read this on-line free here, his stories do follow a similar path but there's a good many twists.

Tried to find that 1 for years ... seems the old tw@t bought all the copies himself ...

If you can find 1 that he has not signed it is apparently worth a fortune
