    vn services unstable

hi m8 yeah ive had loads of problems with my internet im 50mb/s and since the transfer to this new server my connection has been lagged, slow speed tests on multipul sites show various output but most sites i showed upload being average around 18mb/s upload 1.5 1 site had me down as 2mb/s download 512upload but do the tests in their cable forum and it tells me im 36+kb/s and when i request area maintance report the same report comes up and has done since june.
ive spoke to a few people in my area "south shields" and if your on 50mb/s connection theres been lots of unhappy users being dropped signal loosing power bla bla.
i contacted vm but their systems are eaither down or unaware theres a problem.
now not sure about anyone else my old partner work for r.branson in a cinima and hes money proffit mad since this narg3 we all running on is bring in money now he will and has brought all services into the new service and i really dont think hes tryed or tested all products for conflicts of any kind.
im looking into transfering all to sky and i know adsl in my ares only offers 4mb/s at max but the speed was constant for the 4years i had it anyways.

Ok if your pings are that bad, then there is something seriously wrong. Can you post a traceroute that your getting? It will show you what part of the network your running slow via.

Have you tried setting a proxy? Like Belfast, or Cardiff?

VM will ask you to do all this, before anything else. Are you downloading stuff while running these tests? You behind a router? If so, then plug the modem direct into the PC, as it may be your router thats the issue.

What time are you running the tests? Are you a heavy downloader, as you could of been traffic shaped. Need a bit more information before I can help further.

Bringing in Nagra 3 is nothing to do with profit. Its about making the system secure, and stopping pirates. And for the record, Branson has no involvement in the company, they just use his name for branding. He only owns 15-20% of the company, and its still owned by NTL, just rebranded as Virgin, as the Virgin name has better branding.

As for best ISP, Virgin is by far the best for internet, some parts of the network are better than others, but thats like anywhere else. ADSL is limited to quality of line, and distance from the exchange, if you want to move to ADSL, then I would suggest BE as an ISP.

How are you being fobbed off? Just run traceroutes at different times of the day, and you have all the evidence you require. Different parts of the network are in different states, luckily where I live it is one of the best parts of the network.

As I said, try some proxies and stuff. Here is an excellent website setup a long time ago, by an NTL user called robin walker.
