Can someone check this song out for me?

Iron Maiden - Phantom Of The Opera (1998 Digital Remaster) - Listen Free

Fast forward to 3:20 and tell me if you can hear a scratch on the record!?

Digital remastered but recorded from a scratched vinyl, isn't technology great.

    Maybe it's just my headphones.

Hi. There is two small clicks just after 3.20.
I once looked at vinyl record through a microscope to see where a skip was and was amazed at the dirt and mites in the grooves.

Some cotton buds needed here methinks!

First click at 3:18 followed by three clicks from 3:21.

Scratch suppression technology tends to kill the dynamics of the recording as can be heard here. I'd rather hear the original vinyl, scratches and all.

Hi Dreamer. As most of my vinyl was secondhand the mites were exports.

So some people can hear it and others can not.

Probably down to the sensitivity of our individual audio setups.

Just listened to this through my AC3 output on PC into sony 7.1 Surround amp, definately scratches or clicks on that track, Im going to dig out the original Phantom of the Opera CD which was a remastered release from 98, and see if that has the same scratches and clicks on it????

                  Will let you know soon....

defo scratches on it and not just around that mark they can be heard right the way through although not as frequent

you can tell its a scratch by the timing of the revolution at around the 3.18 its the same every couple of seconds indicating a scratch of a few mm at its deepest

Yes, that makes sense. There would be a click every (60/33.3)=1.8 seconds after that first one at 3.18.

Ok found the original CD that was digitally remastered in 98, have listened to it and definately no scratch on it.

If that site is selling it as an MP3, I would be very suspicous and question if they have the copyright to sell it, if they have I would demand better quality than that, as it is obviously an LP rip not a genuine Digitally Remastered Digital Copy ie from original source recordings.

P.S if you want it in FLAC (free lossless audio codec) quality let me know as i have a copy on my PC (And No Scratches)
