is having a badger an there kids in your garden a threat to our kids?

please help, after the fox attack on the 2 twin kids this year has made me to keep my back door shut.

i think a badger could do more damage to kids then a fox can.

i have seen the badger and others around my house have seen there kids two.

they are coming from my back garden, i don't have a fence up to stop them after the last who lived here was always pissed on cider to even give two craps about it.

i have 1 kid please help.

Here's a couple of links that might help. It looks as if they only attack when injured or threatened.

I wouldn't worry too much about foxes btw. That story was blown out of proportion by the media and there is still a lot of suspicion about what really happened. I'll leave you to do your own Googling on that one.

badgers are predominantly nocturnal too so if your kids aint out after dark theyle never actually meet
and i agree a badger is only a threat if its hurt
so if the animals in any danger it will most likely run to avoid the situation
Today is the Tomorrow you worried about yesterday ......Was it worth it ?

Gotta agree with Nara, as long as you leave them alone they will leave you alone. Most of the time they will run away from people.

As for fox attacks, it's all a load of bull. It took me an hour of sitting very still, throwing buscuits towards a fox. Before it came close enough for me to hand feed it. That was a fox used to being in a busy transport yard where dog food was often left for it by the drivers.

To believe a fox would go into an occupied house, go up stairs, attack 2 children then escape without being seen by the occupants....is bull.
No fox would corner its self by going up stairs. Also, we are talking about foxes. Even wolves only attack if the victim is already injured.

badgers are very shy creatures, and would run a mile if they heard your kids.
as for the "fox attack " story,
gotta admit i had my doubts about that one,
was sort of expecting some sort of scandel to come out, when the dust settled.
its true urban foxes are getting bravier but
          get into a house?
          run upstairs?
          and attack TWO children????
somethin doesnt run true to me......

I agree with the above - Badgers would rather run away, and they only get mildly hostile when confronted with a shovel Three of them were playing around a tree one night in my back-garden. Awful bloody racket. One got helped over the fence into the neighbours' yard, which broke up the party as the other two ran off
