I want to cut a steel scaffold pole to shrten it,, what kind of tools will i need? Im not going to do it myself, dad will do it if he can get hold of th tools
Hacksaw would be simplest way. Disc cutter fastest. 9" angle grinder would do it. 4" grinder won't cut all the way through (unless you turn the pole as you cut it).

The best thing to use is a angle grinder as it will cut it like butter..
I would not bother with a hacksaw as you will be there all week, just to cut a small line..
So just invest in a angle grinder it will make life alot easier in the long run.. As scaffey poles are quite strong steel.......

Exactly mate.
Make sure you get a 9" angle grinder. You can go straight through with one cut.
If you use a 4" it'll take longer and you'll end up having to spin the tube around and do it one half at a time.
