    Cutting a steel scaffold pole

    I want to cut a steel scaffold pole to shrten it,, what kind of tools will i need? Im not going to do it myself, dad will do it if he can get hold of th tools

    I would use a small angle grinder with a 4" cutting disc, make sure you/he wears protective clothing ie; gloves & goggles at the least.

        or a sthil saw, if you have none of the above use a haxsaw, and get some galvanised paint for the ends.

            Hacksaw would be simplest way. Disc cutter fastest. 9" angle grinder would do it. 4" grinder won't cut all the way through (unless you turn the pole as you cut it).

              All of the above or pipe cutters. A few twists and turns and the jobs done.

                The best thing to use is a angle grinder as it will cut it like butter..
                I would not bother with a hacksaw as you will be there all week, just to cut a small line..

                So just invest in a angle grinder it will make life alot easier in the long run.. As scaffey poles are quite strong steel.......

                      Exactly mate.

                      Make sure you get a 9" angle grinder. You can go straight through with one cut.
                      If you use a 4" it'll take longer and you'll end up having to spin the tube around and do it one half at a time.

                        9in will b a bit expensive tho just 2 do 1 job mate
