Hi I just saw an electric motor being used to generate electricity with a couple sets of magnets that cause the other ones to spin constantly therefore generating electricity with the motor. Does anyone on here have plans on how to build them or have any experience with these?

There is very little difference between a motor and a generator, on older cars you used to have a dynamo and not a alternator, if you introduced a voltage ie a 12v battery across the terminals you then had a motor. Today the dual fuel cars, petrol+electric work on a more advanced system of this basic principle...chuckComment

too lazy to watch the video, but you get losses.
Start with 100 units of enegy.
10 units are needed to turn the moving parts
10 units are removed for losses in wiring
10 units are removed for wind resistance
60 units are tax by the gover'men't
No such thing as a free lunch, unless you get away with shoplifting.

True, but there are nutcase websites out there claiming you can generate electricity from a motor using magnets with no other energy input. There is very little difference between a motor and a generator, on older cars you used to have a dynamo and not a alternator, if you introduced a voltage ie a 12v battery across the terminals you then had a motor. As Meat-Head says, there's no such thing as a free lunch. He who laughs last probably didn't get the joke.

Can remember when I was a young kid Jok, I used to spanner my mum,s dynamo and battery off her Hilman Imp when she was at work, get a old inner tube and some Evo stick and coil it around the shaft of the dynamo anchor it to my trolley, touch the terminals and away I went, you pay about 20K today for this technology...chuckOriginally posted by JoKBosch dynastart, this was a combination of both chuck, was used on small diesel engines on boats and plant machinery.
Remember overhauling a few of these as an apprentice and instead of it having a v belt it used a toothed gear and belt, this was to help with the starting as a v belt would slip too much on starting.
