can anyone remember this 80's kids tv show?

i am driving myself nuts trying to remember the name of a 1980's kids show.
it was set upon a starship or starbase.
the program setup was similer to "crystal maze" except it was children doing the challenges....
at the end of the show, they had to cross some sort of matrix to escape...
the most memorable part of the show was that there was a talking plant on it, which wheeled about the place making funny noises..
i found this comical , if not a little disturbing

can anyone remember this show or do i need to get off the drugs?????
