Looks like the you guys in the euro are suffering now, when it used to be the other way on. Bit off the thread topic but my brother was talking to a couple on the plane back from marbella yesterday and they were flying over to leeds to do their shopping cause it was cheaper in the Uk. Never thought that would happen.

yep..i can beat all of em in my Hobby...homebrewing..
Its a hobby tainted by cheap supermarket kits that taste like sh*t...
If you do it properly, and buy a qualitly kit where you dont add sugar (its included in the cans)...you can get a commercial quality pint..
more so if you goto all grain brewing..
Would recomend it to anyone - try this site..

works out at 30ish pence per pint for nelsons revenge ale - sold in weatherspoons for about 1.80 i beleive last time..

Lager in spain, Pint €2.10, Glass or bottle €1.20, cans from the supermarket €0.30.

Last time I was home (Ireland), 2 pints and a fancy turkey samdwich €22.00.

Somehow a €2 pint tastes better in the sun

Being a non-drinker I don't carry the same fascination with the price of a pint.

But given that it cost's a pub somewhere around 15p-25p per pint for Coke. I feel totally ripped having to pay ?1.80 for less than a pint (Rileys regular)

On a slightly different note... Kianniamh, since you're in the area. Try going to the Lord Stones Cafe, Carlton-in-Cleveland. If memory serves you're a boro man so head for Stokesley, follow the A172, turn off for Carlton & take the left fork to Chop Gate. Once up the bank it's on the left.
Nice relaxing place, good food & he used to sell pints of Stella for ?1.50. His prices have changed recently, but if you're a regular you get cheaper prices.

At ?1.50 for Stella it's defo a taxi job as it would be rude not to stay for a few sociables at those prices.

Same neck of the woods as me but 62p more. Find a sammy smiths pub takes a bit of getting used to but easier on the wallet.

My local in Bolton ?2.60 a pint of fosters,I went to a wedding at weekend in Bolton pint of carling ?3.15, and i paid 17.50 for 2 yagerbombers, went to manchester last weekend most pubs around ?4.00 a pint , 1 bar charged me ?5.50 for a pint of paroni.

no wonder all these pubs dont stay open so long.

In Kalkan in Turkey a the mo, its 5 lira for a big Effes in the hotel and we are getting 2.25 lira to the pound, some of the bars are 3.5 lira for the same. In the USA earlier this year we paid 6 dollars for a pitcher which is about 3 pints and was getting 1.5 dollars to the pound, Notts where we live is about ?2.50 a pint but a Whetherspoons has opened near my local boozers so they drop the prices slightly, still taking the piss though...
