I was googling for info on the Dreambox and found this site full of excellent tutorials and have been reading for the past few days - decided to register today partly to thank everyone for the wonderful info and partly to get my hands on the Dreambox 500c image
I found you googling on the net.
I need help with a DM500 of a friend as i am a totally new in this area.
I think it had a problem with the bootloader (as it is a clone): i made the jtag interface and i can communicate with the DM but, if i want to use Jtag i get this message : INTEL unknown (it seems Jtag does not support the flash in this DM: INTELTE28F640J3C120 (the usual seems to be: INTELTE28F640J3F75)).
So i tried a different way and i was able to restore the bootloader (i think) with this software: jtag_windows.exe.
I was able to activate the "write" option and to complete the write. I used this file found on the net: dm500_alps_boot_00_00_00_00_00_00.bin.
Then i changed the lan address with Jtag in: 00.09.34.1c.2c.3c and i seemed to be ok.
The messages i got were:
Commit Config Area
Configuration area
Mac address: 00.09.34.1c.2c.3c
Redunderant Mac address: 1c.2c.3c
Tuner Type Alps
Erase Flash Done
and that's all.
The program stay there with no possibilities to do nothing (it does not load the bootloader, i think).
I closed the DOS window and tried to connect with null modem cable.
I used Dreamup500, ran the software, press "Connect" and turned on the power of the DM500 but the communication did not start.
But, if i try to get info re-running jtag i get a new lan address: 00:00:00:20:83:69.
Why?????????
Can you help me?
Maybe all i have done is totally wrong: anyway, i am a stuck here: PM are welcome.
Slang
PS: forgive my english
