I've not had time to read up on them, but they do sound like the business.

Improved processor over the original Desire, now with a graphics processor to help free up the main processor. Android 2.2 out of the box, 8MP camera with HD recording, updated Sense UI, Flash 10.1 for playing embedded video without a player & some very smooth web browsing.
The battery life is again lacking in grunt.

Overall, I'd take one if my contract was up.... but the lack of a super Amoled screen might be a bit of a let down
