ntl virgin media query

hi i have rang up ntl virgin media that i no longer require there services as i have had a better offer from talk talk

the problem is there have told me that an engineer will come and collect the box on december 3rd prior to that he will phone me. the problem is i threw away the original box i only have the chipped box which i purchased few years ago from a seller on a forum. which the boxes do not work since there went nagra 3
i cannot give them the chipped box. what do i tell the engineer when he comes for the box on december 3rd

that you threw away the box, or you just say you have packed it by mistake and its gone to your parents house in (make up a city).. You'll call them when you have it..

You shouldn't have chucked it out as the equipment provided by VM / NTL / Telewest never belongs to you...

Basically, if they try and charge you see if you can pick one up second hand off ebay..

whatever you do DO NOT give them the dodgy box

It happened to me once, I canceled my subscription, but wanted to keep the box,
so when the engineer turned up to collect the box, I told him someone had already been to collect it the day before, he didn't seem to bothered, and I never heard from them again.

i cancelled months ago,and they dont want my box,,its not fair whats you rbox got that mine aint ,yeah just say some other engineer picked it up
