Hey guys...
Just a quick note of thanks for the mine of information on here from all you regulars....I'm not what you'd call gifted at all this techy stuff, but I've managed to get my dreambox up & running & am now quite apt at entering the keys every day.
....Going for the big one tomorrow - gonna get myself a crossover cable & try installing the fix...wish me luck!
I'm sure I'll manage, thanks to all the easy-to-follow guides & the help you guys are willing to give. Hope to start helping others myself in the future.

Now getting really clever

Managed to ftp the fix....so seemingly all sorted now.
This has gotta be the most technical thing I've ever done with electrical equipment....
Thinking of connecting up to the washing machine & cooker next - give the missus a day off for christmas

good feeling isn't it when you do things for yourself! in fact it's the best part of it in my opinion, i usually sit there and admire my work with a cold beer for 5 minuites then think "what can i do now then"
