its open to a lot of bullshi+
bit like feedback on e-bay negative and positive,,i mean if i looked at feedback and used that as a judge of whether to buy or not i dont think i would buy a thing,,,,plenty of consumer type forums out there for this type of info,,ive used a few in the past with good results,,,ranting rooms seems a bit much on dk,but as stated below it worked on satkings
up to the powers that be i suppose,,,although it would probably need a lot of attention from admin and mods etc as if they dont have enough to do already
maybe devil could put meaty in charge, now that would be interesting

I have my reservations about a section like this. Watchdog don't broadcast after one letter, they wait until they have a case against a company.

Say I own a satellite receiver website and I am 'at war' with another satellite receiver website. I can make a post slating them and then refer them to my site. Now I can assure you this is the kind of shit that will be posted once people get wind of it. I know there will be genuine posts about genuine experiences but I'm just not warming to it at the moment.

I've never been a fan of a rant room either but I know others like it. So maybe if there's enough interest we can think about that one.

My wife ordered business cards through Vistaprint 2 years ago and right at the bottom of the page there was the worlds tiniest lettering that gave an opt-out from paying ?10 a month for schemes/services that the vast majority of us never use. She phoned customer service and without hesitation they refunded all the d/debits they had taken.

I think the opt out is more noticeable now.

Even though they dealt with the issue immediately and without fuss I think that it is wrong to have Opt-Out box's, they should all be Opt-In.

It was only noticed when a d/debit name changed to Santander. She had never had this on her statemant before and after a little research, and a phone call to the bank, it all came to light.
Best way to check would be to tick off all known d/debits and start from there.

I was on another site and was looking to complain about a broad band provider and found a mega thread going back 4 years of complaints against the company.
Now that company sponser the site and a rep is always on hand to deal with/cover up complaints.
                    Damage limitation?

Rather than making this a complaints forum how about turning it into a Recommendation Forum with sub catergories within, stating why you would recommend a company or not and what, if any, experience you have had with the recommendation.

                      For example :

                      M***** Kitchens.
I would not recommend because I have subbed for them and all they are when you strip them back to the basics are middle men between you and the sub contractors. If you have any issues regardless of what it is it's always the contractors fault, even if the delivery doesn't turn up when agreed or if parts have not been ordered correctly. I was told there was no more work for me for a few reasons but the one that sticks out was I was not prepared to lie to the customer. I was also told to take unused 'additional' items home rather than let the customer have a refund because of the good profit margin.

Briliant idea - except most of the complaints will be about "Meat-Head-Motors"!

A Rant section would usually be used to blow off steam about anything that's got you pi**ed off. It's not there to be used as a direct assault on any company, just indiviual experiances in life.

Most of my previous rant's on Satkings were about the standards in peoples driving, or lack there of. Or the lemming attitude of pedestrians that just step into the road without looking or caring.

                            It's more fun than serious.
