Hi everyone,
I need some urgent help with a Bosch EDC16C39 ECU from a Hyundai Getz 1.5 CRDi. The tool I am using is KT200 II.
Here is the sequence of events:
I have attached the original ECU ID screenshot taken before the issue occurred (Please see the attached file: WhatsApp Image 2026-07-03 at 3.34.40 PM.jpg).
ECU Information from the ID log:
My bench power supply is stable at 12.6V - 13V, and wiring has been double-checked. It seems the flash/microcontroller might be corrupted or locked due to a checksum/block issue during the last write.
What are my options to revive this ECU? Do I need to open the case and read/write via BDM mode (JTAG) to recover it, or is there a trick to force KT200 II to wake it up in Bench/Boot mode?
Any help, guidance, or original full backup files (Flash + MPC + EEPROM) for BDM recovery would be highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
I need some urgent help with a Bosch EDC16C39 ECU from a Hyundai Getz 1.5 CRDi. The tool I am using is KT200 II.
Here is the sequence of events:
- 1. I accidentally flashed a wrong file via OBD. The writing process completed successfully without any errors, but the car would not start (cranks but no start).
- 2. I removed the ECU from the vehicle and connected it on the desk using BENCH Mode. The tool successfully established a connection and identified the ECU.
- 3. While in BENCH Mode, I wrote the original backup file back into the ECU.
- 4. After the write process completed, I reinstalled the ECU into the car, but the engine still refused to start.
- 5. I pulled the ECU back out to check it on the bench again, but now it refuses to connect in BENCH Mode at all. There is no communication, and the tool cannot wake up the ECU.
