if you go in the night clubs drinking is not that cheap it was about 10-12 dollas a bottle . where as if you get a beer by say the pool or a cocktail they are quite reasonable like 5 dollas . if your gambling your drinks are free just tip the waitress that brings it to you which worked out cheaper sometimes jump on dollor blackjack order drink dollor tip and then get off haha . food is cheap if you go to any fast food outlets they normaly have silly offers on like two or three big macs for the price of one or they did when i went last year proper meals run from about 30-50 dollas but they are still quite good value as the food is realy nice hope this helpsComment

Cheers did not expect to find this thread but i am going on a Stag do in June. I have flights and accomodation sorted but i needed some info on everything else.
Good tip on the drinks, i did read they were expensive in clubs but i did not know when you gamble you get them for free
Are there any limits on which drinks you can have e.g. just beers or can you order spirits as well? Do they frown or limit you if you ask for doubles?

these girls are nearly right 95 degrees at night in the summer time.
End of the strip, - south? (FROM MEMORY) there is a bridge, hang a right
keep going there is a garage there if you need any work doing on your car.
Again from memory, find the 'Stratosphere', there is a back alleyway in, which has the 'dumpsters' in it.

When you check in at your hotel you will be given a booklet of vouchers, don't just bin these like everyone else they contain free drinks and usually free buffets in your hotel and free admission to events, you will also get as much as you can eat deals at lunch in most hotels as food is subbed so check them out, when you walk down the strip you will see a load of fast food places aswell all are licenced and the food is good. What I did was when I checked into my hotel was to ask if they knew of any local high stake Poker games that were on, after the receptionist gave me the run down she upgraded my room for nothing.Good trips are the canyon in a helicopter, go straight to the booking offices on the strip. and the Hoover Dam which usually incorperates Cadburys chocolate and most hotels have free shows on the strip or inside.Drinks are free if you are paying slots or tables, just asks the waitress for 2 or 3 she not give a toss what you have, and then just tip her a dollar or two, or they are some back street bars just off the strip but check them out first. Another point is don't wander to far off the strip at night as there are some shady looking characters around....chuckComment

i've been to vegas a few times for the boxing the weigh in is nearly always the day before and free entry so even if your not going to the fight you can still get to see the boxers in the flesh, we joined all of the casino's on the strip loyalty clubs and got free gifts and free spins etc. i like gambling so at the sportsbook some casinos give free daily form racing papers out normally about $4 plus i think there are 3 or 4 different copies for various tracks and whilst your gambling the cocktail waitresses will bring you free drinks as long as you keep tipping them. for shows and events and even the momorail its worth picking up the various vegas mags as they all have discount coupons in them. if using public transport on the strip its better and a lot quicker to use the monorail than the bus. food and drink is cheap all the casinos do buffets i found the buffet at the palms superb and far better than most on the strip. i'm sure anyone would enjoy a trip there as theres plenty to do as long as your over 21,if your not used to gambling i would suggest finding a low steaks roulette table and just play your lucky numbers (you can get a voucher to buy $20 chips and get $10 free) its all about vouchers.Comment

and they are legal and not very expensive apparently...
First tip, get yourself invited to go and see some timeshare apartments in the morning (there is bugger all else to do), get the free lunch, get your heavily discounted tickets to Circ De Soleil and have a nice time..
Go to a gun range, tell them your Brit and wanna shoot some guns. They will understand that its a novelty for you and let you fire off machine guns, shotguns, handguns.. Try it, just once in your life, trust me...
Drinks and cocktails are free while you are gambling, so pop into a casino to cool off play the dime slot machines and order yourself a free cocktail many times throughout the evening...
The prawn chow mein at the Panda Express on the strip will give you the squirts, avoid the prawn and its great scoff.
Go out at night and see the inside of the Venetian and then watch the pirate ship battle outside Treasure Island opposite..
Hooters Hotel and Casino is full of rednecks, only worth a visit to get the T shirt.
Last tip, don't stay in Vegas too long... A long weekend is long enough..
Enjoy..Last edited by caveman_nige; 19 January, 2011, 23:21.Comment
