    Some advice please

When I cook my curry I normally put 5grams of hot chilli powder, but I want to start putting fresh chillis instead.

Anyone know the conversion from dried to fresh in weight?

    try

    1) posting in recepie section
    2) try a bucket full of fresh - if it blows your head off, try a little less

Depends on a number of factors, not limited to the strain of fresh chillies Birds-eyes for example are a lot hotter than Jalape?os so even though their smaller you would use less.

It also depends on the prep, if your blending them up into a paste you'll need less than say diced which uses less than chopped after being de-seeded.

There's no real accurate conversion method, just pick a type of chilli to start with and gradually add more till it reaches the taste you want.

Chuck in half a dozen Scotch Bonnets. That should do it.

                Thanks for the advice!

My main reason for asking is that I tried the other night.

I normally blend onions/garlic into paste, so I chucked in 4 birds eye chillies and blended all together. Didnt seem as hot as norma... Now I can keep adding to it slowly over time, not a problem, but was just asking if anyone knew a quck and dirty conmversion factor!

Oh, don't say the name or location, of your place, that way if "Team-Meat" turn up, cause a fight and call the waiter a retard (he didn't like that), then it can only be good luck.

There's a very easy way to do this. Just use the normal amount...if you've got ring-sting the next day, you didn't use enough. If you were crying for mercy before the ring-sting you got it right
