    Cyclists ?

I do 23 miles to work every day to work & back,I have to go through the city and the cyclists that go through red lights is unbelievable, and when your indicating to turn left they still undertake you on the inside, when they come of their bikes your in trouble.
Some of them are far more irresponsible and selfish than the motorists they complain about.
Their latest weapon is wearing a miniature camera attached to helmets or handlebars, to capture bad driving.
Watch the footage in this link...

I'm tempted to fit a camera, to show some of the diabolical behaviour by some of these cyclists on a daily basis.

Bang 'em with some sort of road tax duty, with immediate effect.
      And THATS just for starters.

They seriously get on my nerves as well, can't stand them.
Get them off the roads the inconsiderate bstards!
It's impossible to smoke a cigarette, send a text message and steer around cyclists at the same time.

          Got to disagree people.

I cycle to work everyday 48 weeks a year, I've got as much right to be on the road as the cars etc as I pay tax on my car I just don't use it to commute. A lot of the cars on the road probably aren't taxed or insured anyway.

I have to admit I am probably in the minority as I stop at red lights and observe all the other rules of the road as well as use the cycle lanes whenever possible. There are bad drivers as well as bad cyclists so we just need to respect each other whilst on the road.

          Cheers

It's all the fault of the councils. If councils invest money on cycle paths for their own areas then there would be no problem.
Cyclists could stick to the cycle paths and if they were found cycling on the pavements or roads then fine them.. on the spot, or confiscate their cycle if they can't pay up... simples and everyone is happy

I always use pavements.. and I wont stop using them if the can catch me to fine me. Mind I dont go tear arsing about, espescially when pedestrians about.
The cycle paths are a joke in britain.. the coont who dreamt up painting a line at the side of a road ought to have his 10 year old daughter riding down his 'cycle path'.
I say get the prisoners in a chain gang and compulsory purchase the edge of all farmers fields, to make cycle paths behind the hedges.

Roads are for motor vehicles. If i drive in bus lane/pavement I get fined.
Paths are for people, if they walk in road/bike path, they get hurt or deaded.
Bike paths are for bikes, cyclist should be fined if they get caught riding anywhere else

it's the job of the councils to keep the cycle paths clear of debris. If the cycle paths are not fit for purpose, then COMPLAIN in a LOUD VOICE to your council and preferably send them a letter too so it is documented. You could even send your local paper a short article, highlighting the state of the cycle paths. If no-one complains they will do nothing.

Now I cycle & drive, although most of the time I drive. The amount of cyclists I've nearly killed on one road near where I live is unbelievable.

Dual carrageway with a dedicated cycle lane on the pavement changing to a seperated lane with a 6" high curb. Yet none of the regular cyclists use it, they insist on taking up a full lane doing 20mph in a 40mph zone.

The look on their faces when they realise they don't have any room on the road after the cycle lane enterance...Priceless.

As a cyclist I make dam sure I'm as far away from the main traffic as possible. If there's a cycle lane, I use it. After pedestrians, cyclists are the most vunerable people on the roads. A fact that seems to be missing from their empty little heads.

When on my way to London to do a job once, we stopped at some light and a cyclist puilled up a little infront of the van. He had all the gear on, the lycra, the helmet etc. and complete with a smog mask.
He was riding a racing bike and had his feet in them silly little straps on the stupid little pedals. As he stopped, he was unable to get his foot free to steady himself as he stopped. Suffice it to say that he fell over, much to our amusement.
He picked himself and his bike up and moved off the road to sort himself out.
He then removed his smog mask and sparked up a ciggy.
What a complete and utter knobhead.
