    Microsoft Security center

    Hi all

    Can anyone help me?

I have a problem with my laptop, everytime i click on the internet explorer, instead of it defaulting to google as set up in my internet options the Microsoft Security Center comes up in its place. i did have a spyware virus, but I have now killed it off. It is still coming up saying my computer has been attacked by spyware or viruses. its driving me mad!!! Can anyone tell me how to turn it off so I can get my internet explorer back???

    Thanks

You thought you killed it off but it is still there by the looks of it.

Try Super antispyware, I have seen loads of people on a lot of forums posting that it is very good.

Make sure you turn off system restore because the spyware hides in there and the antispyware doesnt clean that.

On desktop, right click "my computer" and go to properties and click on the system restore tab at the top, tick the box to turn off system restore.

This will delete all your previous rstore points so there will not be any older ones to go back to. After you clean the system you can turn it back on if you use it.

Sometimes the only way to delete the virus is to do a new install.

hi, i had this. its not from microsoft at all. if you click on the button that scans the computer for a virus it will find it. and then if you were to click on their software button to buy it, you'll see at the top of the screen that its not microsoft at all. but because it was probably an exocutable file that you opened, the spyware thinks its ok. the way i got rid of it was by doing a system restore. easy as that.
