drop shipment is it good or bad

hi im looking at adding drop shipment to my next purchase from china to try and avoid customs
as anything coming into ireland at the minute is been nabbed by customs
by adding drop shipping.... dealextremes supplier labels it as a gift and is sent direct from the factory saving dealextreme the postage costs
    so hopefully it will help

il be ordering from dealextreme which ive bought from before with no problems

I dont think it will make much difference ,customs will still more than likely nab it .

Touching wood as i say this but i use ebay as a drop shipping service and i have never paid customs yet if your item is marked as a low value gift it should be ok although i think it depends on what you are importing i think some things have a high risk element like knock off phones and ghd straighteners that is in england anyway but i cant see ireland being to different

i think vat is waived under a certain amount i think it just depends on what you are importing

I was talking to a dhl driver today .
He told me Irish customs have gone mad in the last few months with stuff.
Before he said it was a random check, now he said they are opening every 2nd item.
He said its causing extra work for him as he has to collect money .

typical, country's gone to sh1t and they think hassling people for a few shillings is gonna fix it. its prolly not covering extra customs wages
