I'm with Canker_Canison on this one, android is the way,
and I'm waiting to see what deals voda have on the Samsung galaxy S2.

and jail-breaking is a way of putting apps, and other stuff on an iPhone without having to go through the apple apps store or itunes.
I think what gets my goat with the iPhone is there is a charge for everything, you cant even change the battery yourself without voiding your warranty, you have to send it to apple and they charge you ?55 + ?8 p/p.

android saw the apple os and bettered it. 'tis truly open source, no voiding of warranty to do what you want with YOUR phone. My droid cost ?80 and does more than an iphone. ~~~~ apple..~~~~ em all to hell

Thats the point Lainie... you cant be 'Helped out' with an iphone... unless you want to 'Jailbreak' ie 'Warranty break' your 'New' 'Iphone'.

Set aside some more money than your monthly contract for the niceties Lainie.

Johnboy has put forward the best solution so far, but it's not as easy as it sounds.

Have a word with your friends & see if any of them have an Iphone & a top end Android phone (HTC Desire, Desire HD or Samsung Galaxy S). Taking you have, play with their phones for a good few hours. Try to do everything that you will be doing if you got one.
Ask them about the phones & what they're like to live with. Just remember that some people look through rose tinted glasses & don't give the negative points.

I wouldn't rule out a Windows 7 phone either. The HTC Mozart 7 is a stupidly quick phone & works very well, it's just a little restricted with the home screen (just like an Iphone).

When all is said & done, this will be a personal choice. But of the 4 platforms mentioned, I'd put the Iphone 4th, Blackberry 3rd, HTC Mozart 7 2nd & the HTC Desire HD & Samsung Galaxy S in joint 1st.

But it's worth waiting for the Galaxy S2, if only to put it up against the Iphone.

I suppose at the moment it depends how much money lainie as!

I myself have just got a iPhone 3gs 16gb, new!
Never had one before even though I know all/well a bit about them, just been talking to my son about bb's,androids(San fransisco's) and iPhone, and he was point blank bb's.....but now after talking he wants the android!! This in my opinion is about cost/me telling him the differences.I was going to get an android myself but I got a good deal on the iPhone and I am used to them.sort of

however a lot of popular apps "sky sports" for etcccccc are not available on android, but then again there are different ones on android but in the future (soon), the more androids are sold then the more apps(sky etc) will have to offer there services to the android market...Blah blah

but lainie, you will always be able to sell your iPhone and get an android when they moved on a bit more, which is why I made my decision for the iPhone.

Anyway whichever you pick I /and others can help

Only iTunes Plus versions cost $1.29. A few are 69 cents.
