karcher pressure washer

evening all
i have karcher pressure washer,upright one,not big not sure of the model,anyway i borrowed it to a friend a while back and it was in full working order,ive had it a couple of years,anyway i got it back put it in the shed and never used it again until yesterday,problem is once i connect it to the water supply and switch the washer on its making a funny intermittent noise,before you squeeze the trigger,like a gurggling noise,hard to explain exactly,does it for a couple of seconds then stops then does it again and again,also theres nowhere near enough pressure coming through the gun,you can hold it easily with one hand,normally at full spueeze you need two hands on it,i checked the filter where the water connects and that is clear,the hose from the tap to the washer and that is fine aswell
anyone got any clues please ?

Maybe the brushes are worn down on the motor, just a thought

is that a common fault on these ? to be honest its hardly had any use since i bought it new,the odd patio clean down and a few times on the car

My karcher is a little iffy as well now and again.. i find twisting the nozzle clockwise and then anti-clockwise while depressing the trigger solves this.. try it!!

ive tried it all,im well pished off believe me,,,,it was fine until i lent it out,,might be coincidence,,,either way it hasnt had a lot of use,,and was always spot on,,i will give it a go

when stored was there water left in it or was it drained out,does the lance come off to see if it clogged,nearly forgot some makes have 2 speed flows by pulling the end or pushing in check that also.

before you panic try running water thru it with the power off, once the water is running thru it switch it on,
It may just be a air lock.

as far as i know it wasnt drained out,,which bit are you pulling for speed flow ? as far as i can remember this has 1,could be wrong

We've got 4 at work that make the same noise..

It only does it with the lance connected.. Ive found that i can speed up/slow the noise by adjusting the tip.. by turning it.. but it doesnt stop it..

I think the seals have gone on ours.. maybe this could be the problem with yours.. try it with a brush or something.

theres hardly any pressure coming out the nozzle,,as i said before you can hold it with one hand,normally need both

i disconnected the gun and hose completely from the washer,turned the water on let it run for a minute and then switched the mains on,it carried on pumping the water out with a continuos noise as it should,switched it off connected the hose without the gun,switched on and the problem is still there

could be your water pressure coming into your washer
try it in someone elses place and see
the pressure might have been turned down by council or your hose pipe coming into washer might be to long

im thinking it could be pressure aswell,deffo not the hose as it used to work on the end of a 10metre pipe,at the moment i have cut a new one down and made that up,its only a metre long
will try it at me mates and see how it works there
