    Barbeque plates rusty

    Plates on barby rusty due to being left uncovered by wind, what's best to do to remove ? Thnx micky

    i take them out and use oven cleaner, leave it on for a couple of hours and then scrub with a sponge and then rinse.

    after they dry, oil them with vegetable oil and put them back.

        make sure you clean and re-oil before usage as veggie oil will go rancid.

        If you want to, you can get porcelain coated plates which are more non-stick and don't rust.

          Or store cooking grill in airtight bag after use, cheap but effective.
