    smelly toilet

Sometime back I had this problem of a smelly toilet. Called several plumbers and they couldn't find the cause. One even inserted a second air vent without success. I even changed it to a second new other make toilet.

As surprising as it may seem there was a defect in the construction/design of the toilet itself. It was allowing an air passage carrying out the bad smell passed the trap.

So beware even when buying a new toilet it may happen that its badly design

I don't rememeber the brands or suppliers. I know one was from China and the other one from Malaysia. Just beware design failure can be difficult to sort out.

hmmm 10000 views the post and I wonder if it helped anyone realize that sometimes there seems to be a design problem causing issues with the toilets.

Another possible cause of smelly toilets might be that the drain on the floor dries out. To correct that issue just pour some water in that trap (drain).
