A little tip when inspecting PCB

    Hi
Doing visual inspection greatly helps inspecting a PCB for possible failure.

One of which is mention of bulging capacitor or leaking ones.

The bulge occurs mostly at the top of the capacitors. However I have come across two capacitors that looked perfectly fine at the top but they had deformation at the bottom.

If anything is 2007/2008 there was lots of fake capacitor batter going around

Visual inspection is a crucial step in identifying potential issues with a PCB. Bulging or leaking capacitors are indeed common indicators of failure.

esr meter is a very good investment too for checking capacitors

Oh yeah i have a tester for capacitor too but before you come to that visual helps greatly cause you need to desolder the capacitor for inspection
