This week we were treated to pictures of the police's new weapon in the fight against speeding motorists, a Lotus.

With a top speed north of 160mph and the sort of handling prowess normally found on a racing car, this is officially the UK's fastest - and coolest - cop car.
But there are plenty more cool cop cars out there - so take a look at our gallery and let us know if you've seen anything better on the road.

cool alright but there was a lot less crime when the ~~~~ers were out using some shoe leather.

but still my fav car ever : when my Scorpio got nicked and burnt out in in 2005 ... i was gutted.
