The woman who has failed her driving theory test NINETY times ?

and it***8217;s cost her nearly ?3,000

    women drivers hmmmmmm

A woman has failed her driving theory test an amazing 90 times - costing her a staggering ?2,790 before she even sits the practical test.

The Driving Standards Agency revealed the figures after a Freedom of Information request to find the worst drivers in the UK.

The 26-year-old woman, who is from Southwark in south London, last sat her theory test in November 2010, but failed again at her 90th attempt - a UK record.

Testing time: Taking a driving test can be a nervewracking experience for even the most accomplished driver

The driving theory test cost ?31 to sit and is a multiple choice exam in which a wannabe driver has to get 43 or more questions out of 50 correct within 57 minutes before taking to the road for their practical test.

The figures also revealed that the person who has sat the most number of practical tests in the UK is a 39-year-old man from the West Midlands.

He failed the last test - his 36th - just four months ago after sitting it in the Stoke-on-Trent area.

A source said: 'Both of these drivers are currently the worst on record in the UK.

'The woman has tried and failed to pass her theory test 90 times and has still not managed it, and the man in the Midlands seems to have no problem with the theory side of the exam, he just can't pass his practical test.'

The multiple choice questions are chosen at random from a database of 1,000 possible questions, and include no-brainers such as:

A vehicle pulls out in front of you at a junction. What should you do?

    a) Swerve past it and sound your horn.

    b) Flash your headlights and drive up close behind.

    c) Accelerate past it immediately.

    d) Slow down and be ready to stop.

    Another questions reads:

    A person herding sheep asks you to stop. You should;

    a) Ignore them as they have no authority.

    b) Stop and switch off your engine.

    c) Continue on but drive slowly.

    d) Try and get past quickly.

    And a third poser asks:

You go to a social event and need to drive a short time after.

    What precaution should you take?

    a) Drink plenty of coffee after drinking alcohol

    b) Avoid drinking alcohol completely

    c) Avoid drinking alcohol on an empty stomach

    d) Drink plenty of milk before drinking alcohol

The Guinness World Record for the most practical driving tests ever taken is held by Mrs Git Kaur Randhawa, of Hayes, Middlesex, who finally triumphed at her 48th attempt after more than 330 lessons in 1987 just weeks before her 50th birthday.

The world record for the number of theory tests taken is held by a South Korean woman called Cha Sa-soon who passed at her 950th attempt in November 2009.

This system needs to be changed.

Lets start with a simple & logical outlook... Before you can even apply for a license you have to pass the theory test.

This 26 year old woman will of been on hundreds, if not thousands, of driving lessons. Yet she still can't pass the theory test. How dangerous is it to let someone that stupid behind the wheel of a car?

People should know the rules of the road before they can get on them. A doctor studies for years before they are trusted with real people. They don't just turn up with a bit of paper saying learner & start writing out prescriptions...hoping they'll get it right.

Next.... Limit how many attempts at the theory test people can have. If they don't know it be the 15th attempt they'll never know it. That & I don't want anyone around me on the road that took that long just to learn the basics in road safety.

Finally, limit the amount of practical tests people can take. Again, they only need to show basic car control, road awareness & safety. If they can't do that after 10 attempts they don't belong behind the wheel of a car.

Maybe there should be a mandatory amount of lessons between each failed attempt.

To pass the theory test you need to know how to use the computer first, and most women haven?t got the computer and it?s the mouse movement may be causing her to fail the test, in short you can have the test in any language so why can?t we have the road markings in Chinese? ******* diabolical if you ask me.

The closest I came to doing the theory test was when ITV put on one of those 'Test the Nation' programs.

Didn't take it too seriously, but I passed. ~~~~ing well hope so as well, been driving for nearly 21 years now.

Bit of a strange one, but when I'm filling in my details for insurance quotes... It never accepts the date I passed my test as valid. I always have to change the year before it will go through. At the time I passed my test I was 17 & 7 months old... is this now illegal?

                      think i was as well.

other way of looking at it is why did they fail the tests?

know some spotty teenager that failed a few weeks ago, because
"the car behind flashed his lights" - could have been any reason why~!

Driving is a privilege not a right. All that matters is the other person has insurance if they hit you. Here in NY you have parts of the city where having a license and insurance is optional. If a Hispanic hits you you have to hope he has insurance why would i say that? cause most likely he is illegal. Koreans do the same but when you drive thru where they live watch out for u-turns from the curb where they parked. If they are Russian then they are staging a accident so they can sue insurance company's. So even thou these people you say take way to long cause they fail the test to much at least they will be legal drivers not like the fine immigrants that have come to America and just get behind the wheel and drive. Me personally i probably break at least 5-10 traffic laws everytime i get behind the wheel.

We have those people here as well. Those that think they don't need a license or legal car to drive.

I'd like to see a law passed that states 'If a person is caught driving without a license 3 times, they will be shot at the roadside'.

Police remove cars that either have no tax, mot, insurance or the driver has no license. But these people just go out & buy/steal another car. Executing them when caught a third time seems fair to me.
