The money they offered to re-house them was a joke compared with how much money they will bring in.

?90,000 for that is enough for them to get a decent place.

"Treated like criminals" is hardly accurate.

Their flat was due for demolition under a compulsory purchase order. They were the last remaining residents there.

They were never going to win.
He who laughs last probably didn't get the joke.

Take the 90k and buy a cheap flat.
Spend the other 40k on a couple of litres of petrol (at current rates you might get a whole gallon) and some gingy bottles.
Firebomb the local councillors houses, burn the ****ers out and see how they like wearing the same shoes as yourself.

she was offered ?90000 which id imagine is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over the asking price if the rest of the place is derelict AND a new council house. she got greedy and wanted more money.

She was taking the proverbial piss and hanging out for 350,000. She could have bought the East end for that. She had also refused plenty of offers of alternative accomodation all of which she deamed unsuitable.

Having been in her street many a time I'd hate to think what she was looking for. The East End has some decent working class families but it also has more than it's fair share of druggies and alcoholics with the lowest life expectation in the developed world.

She also cost the Tax Payer a fortune fighting what from the onset was a no win scenario. The redevelopment of the East end had started before the Commonwealth Games and her street was one of the ones pencilled in to go. If you visit the East End now there are plenty of decent ground level houses with back and front gardens for the tennants. Council houses that are built to higher standards than most private houses. Over all the area has improved ten fold over the last couple of years and it's getting money it wouldn't have received if the Games weren't in Glasgow.

As for the heavy handed Police if you know the area you will understand why that many were needed to keep the scum at bay.

I also notice she said "the Police have hurt her arm." Stand by for a Court case wanting compensation as her ambitions to be the next British Champion at Wimbeldon has now been dashed.
