Does anybody remember the lady from British Airways who WAS sacked because the crucifix she was wearing offended a couple of passengers and she refused to remove it.
I wonder what would hapen if a member of the public were at the airport and made a complaint about a british airways worker wearing a head dress or similar and claimed that it offended them.
Would that worker be forced to remove his head dress or be sacked ????
Off course not, more than likley the passenger who complained would not be allowed on the flight , removed from the airport and branded a biggot.
Amazing how there are rules for some and different rules for others, there is no doubt that the person who complained about the BA workers crucifix being on display was probably wearing some kind of religious symbol on there head at the time !

It helps to check your facts before posting nonsense.
Nobody complained. The BA worker in question sought permission from her managers to display the cross openly. BA policy at the time was that it could be worn, but must be covered by clothing.
Thankfully the case brought a change in policy.
This thread is about a man displaying a religious symbol openly in his van, not on his person. An equally stupid ban, but not comparable. He who laughs last probably didn't get the joke.

Basically was it not along the lines of Muslims being allowed to wear a headscarf, Sikhs allowed to wear a turban other faiths allowed to wear religious apparel
But if you are Christian different rules applied i.e dont even think about showing religious apparelComment

A small cross has caused so much (agro) that I wonder should the Govt make a survey to the British public yes to the cross and no to the cross and then bring the Law for the protection of the Vampires.

We all know that the British public don't give a toss about seeing a cross, it's only a very few (of certain faiths) that find it offensive.
However it is the same few that the powers that be in this country bend over backwards to please !!!
Britain is fundamentally a christian country and has been for a long time, yet some people come here of different faiths ( which i have no probs with) to take advantage of our freedom and generousity and then complain because we dont adapt to suit themComment

There you go again, passing your judgment on stuff you dream up at homeWe all know that the British public don't give a toss about seeing a cross, it's only a very few (of certain faiths) that find it offensive.

i have friends that are christian, jehovas witnesses, sikh, black, white, brown etc
i respect all races, religions, cultures, thats because i was brought up that way, through religion
at the end of the day we are all human, human nature gives us our characteristics, not color or creed
as for a fundamentally a christian country, i have 4 churches, 3 gudwaras, 2 mosques, 2 kingdom halls near my house
all above are used by their believers almost evry day apart from the churches
1 was sold a few months ago and now is someones home
1 was sold and now is a gudwara
the other 2 are only seen used for funerals or jumble sales
did we force you to stop praying aswell?
why dont you go and find out facts, "we" are not out to get you, the government doesnt bend over backards for "us"
they dnt give 2 shits about you either, they just want money and thats it, and if we keep fighting between ourselves they can carry on goin to the bank while we distract ourselves, grow up
It comes down to class, you either have it or you dont
hav fun

To be fair, I think broony was referring to the small, but very vocal, group of trouble-making fundamentalists who want to impose their beliefs on everyone else. The problem is that while these people only account for a small percentage of that particular religions following, they are the ones we see everyday. The papers don't run stories about peaceful, law-abiding Muslims (for example) who happily get on with their lives and don't much care what other people believe.
I think he was alluding to the OTT political correctness that permeates our society when he commented that the government are "bending over backwards" for minorities. The tabloid rags rile up the natives on a daily basis with instances of political correctness creating patently unjust results, so you can't blame people for having, maybe slightly misguided (by the media!) but understandable, views IMO.Comment

Look to be frank if someone wants to wear a turban then fine just dont complain when you see someone wearing a cross ,
if they cant tolerate people who believe in something different than themself then perhaps they should go to a country that does not allow other religions such as christianity.
then they would be happy beheading anyone who wears a cross, but they wont go there will they ?
because they enjoy the freedoms britain offers such as wearing their own religious apparelComment
